A Poem

June 20, 2017

From his father

Blackouts,

Fear when fireworks flare,

The Thumb print upon his forehead,

Words whispered and remembered.

From his mother

Belief,

The Straightened tie,

That 'careful son' voice,

Her rested arm along his shoulder.

From his teacher

The Knowledge and guidance

Patience and time,

Courage to rise from the debris.

From his Sponsor,

The Hope.
